Fred, local gardening enthusiast from the Ditchingham Gardening Club, came by to give us all a talk on getting your garden ready for this year. We were advised what to put in when and how to do it. Fred demonstrated a couple of useful tools that will help save your back when digging up those spuds this year and also shared a few useful cooking tips, as he used to be a professional chef. A lively group discussion also gave the members a chance to share some of their hints and tips which they have discovered in their own gardening experiences. So girls, back to the garden and get turning that soil!

Novembers meeting was all about baking breads for Christmas. Our speaker Paul, Bakery owner from Harleston, came in to do a demonstration on how to make Stollen and Panettone. With our mouths watering he showed us how to mix, rest and knead our breads correctly with tips on how to get the best from your baking. Unfortunately no cooking took place, but we were all very grateful for the pre-prepared samples that he kindly made that morning - yum! Paul carries out various workshops at his bakery, you can find out more on his Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/MakeBakeWorkshops |
