This October we celebrated our first birthday as a WI. With a little bit of bubbly and token gift for all, we reminisced on the year past and all the fabulous and entertaining events we have had.
As well as the festivities we had the serious matter of voting in our new committee for the next year. Nominations were given, a vote was held and a new president voted in. Congratulations to Sophie Moore, we look forward to having you as our new President. Following the vote, Sophie hosted a Christmas paper folding craft evening where we learnt to make some beautiful 3D snowflake decorations.

Septembers meeting gave our ladies an introduction to bee keeping with local keeper and honey business owner, Peter Sounderland.
Peter and his wife gave us a very informative evening jam packed with natures facts about the seasons, bee colonies and honey making. Armed with honeycomb straight from the hive we all got the chance to taste fresh honey straight from the bees. Peter also brought his microscope and a few slides for us to see pollen cells from various plants and different parts of a bee - including a tongue! A fascinating and factual evening. Thank you Norfolk Honey! |
