WI Life magazine is looking for members to take part in some upcoming features as follows. If you think you or one of your fellow members might fit the bill, please get in touch.
Overcoming adversity Have you faced a major life-changing event and come out the other side stronger? Perhaps you overcame a serious illness and went on to help others; maybe caring for a sick partner or child meant having to build your life and business again from scratch or you turned your life around after a tragedy against all odds. We’re looking for WI members from all walks of life who not only overcame adversity, but went on to make life all the better for it. Please send a few details of your story (no need to write an article, we’ll handle that this end), along with a photograph of yourself, to [email protected] or write to Liz Frost at: 104 New Kings Road, London, SW6 4LP. Inspiring women for 2015! Have you got a really interesting job or pastime or do you live your life in a really unusual way? We’d love to hear from members who stand out from the crowd. Please send a few details of your story, along with a photograph of yourself, to [email protected] or write to Liz Frost at: 104 New Kings Road, London, SW6 4LP.

June's meeting was hosted by self confessed craftivist and upcycler, Grace Moore. Inspired by her mothers passion for patch work, Graces enthusiasm had no bounds for creating a huge variety of decorative items for her home, her family and to sell.
As an easy introduction into the world of patch work, Grace talked us through the principals of crazy patchwork. Just starting with a pentagon shape, we just needed to let go of our inhibitions go and keep sewing strips onto edges whatever which way they go! Everyone went home with a completely unique piece which can now be transformed into whatever we choose! Thank you Grace for a fabulous evening. |
